The liberal arts education I received at Alma College has broadened my worldview, expanded my knowledge base, and stoked my interest in many subject areas. In other words, it has made me a well-rounded person. It has empowered me to formulate content and ideological connections across disciplines. This ability will greatly aid my teaching effectiveness in that I will be better able to relate my subject matter to my students and their lives. This intrinsic motivation will be central to my teaching strategy.
